Due to its shape and the clarity of the sea water you can enjoy the beauty of various corals and seaweed as well as small fish, slugs, crabs, and trepans as you stroll along the beach.  The locals carry simple fishing tools and you can hear their joyous babble once in a while when they catch a beautiful colourful ocean fish.

The beautiful natural architecture which displays an interesting blend between protuberant hills and wide ocean, gives the beach a sense of isolation from the outside world.  Unlike  other beaches throughout Java which are subject to extreme heat from the sun, Drini beach has cooler weather and cooler water conditions which makes it an ideal location to relax, enjoy the scenery and take in the fresh unpolluted air.

Stunning scenery spreads before your eyes as you arrive at Pantai Drini.  The beach here is unspoilt and incredibly beautiful and it is also a very interesting place to explore.  There is a stretch of beautiful white sand which sparkles when illuminated by the sun and the refreshing sea air pampers your sense of smell.  Watching the waves crash softly as they stroke the beach, you will be overcome with a sense of calm.

The water was blue. And the typical coastal winds you can feel it. Glagah Beach is located around 40 kilometers to west from Jogja city. This location is approximately 15 miles from Wates. To reach this place, it takes about two hours. Do not be afraid of being bored for a long journey because you will find a wonderfully scenery.
Although very far from city center, you will not find winding road. The road was straight making it easier for tourists who want to visit Glagah Beach. For the way there were two roads. You can choose one of them. First, past the Bantul road south and then turn right on to the path Bantul – Purworejo. The second one is road runs towards the west through the streets of Yogyakarta – Wates – Purworejo. To more easily to reach Glagah Beach you can use your personal transport.

Baron Beach is a unique beach which has water comes along from mouth of the river, deep of the coastal. The coastal being a unique ecosystem beach which fish, crab and seaweed live in. Mountain of Fire ” MERAPI”

Merapi VOLCANO

The name ”Merapi” could be loosely translated as ”Mountain of Fire” from the Javanese combined words ”Meru,” meaning ”mountain,” and ”api,” meaning ”fire.” Mt.Merapi which stands at about 2,968 meters from sea level, lies in one of the world’s most densely populated areas and dominates the landscape immediately north of the major city of Yogyakarta, on the island of Java.

Mount Merapi isn’t an ordinary volcano mountain, but a symbol in Java sacred mystic. It’s connected with Mataram Islam in Java. As a part of balancing nature, Merapi Mountain is being in balance for Parangtritis Beach in south Jogjakarta. In the middle of the sacred linear of mountain and sea, there is Kraton Jogjakarta as an axis, and the heart of Javanese.

Preventing the balancing nature, Merapi Mountain has a purification ritual hold by Javanese to respect its sacred. It’s named labuhan, throwing a basket of vegetables and livestocks at the mountain. Locals trek the steep hill and throw the basket at the top of the mountain. During on the Javanese calendar, labuhan always becomes a festive ritual in the month, traditional dance and puppet shadow show play in the evening. On the same day, Parangtritis Beach holds the labuhan, throwing sacred offerings to the sea.

On its fire, Mount Merapi always throw out the dust to entire mountain. In Nov 2010, a wide deadly clouds was being spread out at the hill, destroyed hundreds hectares forests and fields, at the north and south side.

Located between Jogjakarta Province and Jawa Tengah Province,made Merapi Mountain has a strategic and important in agriculture sector. Billions of farmers depends on it, especially of its dust. They believe the dust can fertilize soil. The scientist are agree with the farmer. The dust is the best organic fertilizer ever, it’s cheap and easy to use. At some death river of the mountain, there are some sand mining area. The sand is the best sand in Indonesia for building construction.

Being a volcano mountain in thousands year, Merapi Mountain has a beautiful landscapes and nature. It’s the best place for trekking in June-August. You may start from Selo Village (central java) for 5 hours.  If you lucky, Semeru Mountain which is highest mountain in the Java Island, will be appear on its top. The trekking path dominated with 45 degree path rocks. It’s an extra ordinary volcano trekking. In the top, you will see volcano eruption in the closest view ever. It’s a beautiful deadly mountain.

PARANGTRITIS BEACH

♣Parangtritis Beach a diamond land from south Jogjakarta♣

Beach where two monk had battle calls Parangtritis Beach. Located in Parangtritis Beach, Kretek Perfekture, Bantul Province, 27 kilometres south Jogjakarta city. In the north of the sea there is a high rock which always dropps water from the top rock, it calls Parang (rocks), Tritis (dropping water). The Name of  Parangtritis comes on the nature phenomenon.
Besides of monk myth, Parangtritis beach also has another myth, Kanjeng Ratu Kidul (Prince of The South), she believes wearing green dress and lives in a castle deep of the south sea. The myth says people not allow to wear the green clothes or dress if comes to the sea. If it’s infringement, the princess would take the soul of the visitor to her castle.

Sand dunes become another beautiful landscape of the beach. Coloring silver when the sun brightly shining in a day. The sand has steel in its part, so people can use magnet to play with. The sand dunes beach is the only one sand beach in the world. It has unique ecosystem. Bendi or Andong, a tourism transportation run by horse, will take tourists around the beach, enjoying unique ecosystem of the beach.

There also natural water steam resources in another part of Parangtritis area. People believes tht the steam water can cure skin problem. Lot of people go to the Parangwedang, a big natural water steam. In the west, Depok Beach, a place where fisherman anchor their traditional boat also a place where can get cheap and fresh fish, squid or crib from the fisher. Walk on the north, a beautiful view of Parangtritis Beach can seeing at the top of Gembirowati Hill. In a direct access, Gupit Hill also being a started place of paralayang sports.

Before 2000, the craft dominated many markets crafts, especially at Beringharjo Market, Prambanan Temple and Borobudur Temple. The craftsmen distributed their products to the place. Manding Leather Industries Center has lots showrooms, belong to each craftsman. You can easily find many leather products.

There are 47 showroom lined up along the road. Many various kinds of leather stuffs is displayed, such as shoes, bags, jackets, and belts. You can choose the price, from thousands until hundreds thousand rupiahs. It’s depending from the material what they used. Usually the craftsman use materials from cowhide, buffaloes, horses, or goats. Not only leather, they develop and produce other handicrafts that made from water hyacinth or natural fiber. The innovative design is needed because they get many requests from customer to make other handicrafts. If you are less suitable with existing models, you can directly order to the craftsman. But it take longer time and more expensive, because all of the process will be home made.

Everyday many tourists looking in and walking from one showroom to others, both domestics or foreigners. Especially at holiday, there will be more tourists who stopped by or purchased as souvenirs. Usually they’re come by group. They will be looked to get the cheaper price and the best models from the stuff.  The showroom is open everyday from 09.00 am to 09.00 pm.

For you who come not only for shopping, you can go to the workshop. The craftsman will teach you to make a simple craft product.
